Fall Into Reading 2012: Wrap It Up!

In case you haven’t noticed, Christmas is nearly upon us. The last few weeks have been filled to overflowing with school programs, gift-buying, wrapping, list-making, decorating, meal-planning, errand-running and a million other things that seem to be inescapable this time of year. Thankfully, they’ve also been filled with quiet moments by the tree, sneaking in a chapter or two of a good book, celebrating Advent with my family, a Peppermint Mocha or two, and good friends. Of course, along with all the Christmas preparations and activities, this time of year reminds us that it’s time to say goodbye to Fall Into Reading 2012.

I want to thank each person that participated in this year’s challenge. I know I was missing in action most of this fall here on the blog, but I assure you that every time I managed to escape with a good book, I thought about all of you who were also setting aside time for reading. Knowing you’re all out there makes the reading extra-enjoyable.

As we wrap things up, I just have one more thing to ask. Would you please write a final wrap-up post, letting all of us know how Fall Into Reading 2012 went for you?  I would love if you’d take the time to write a final post and link to it using the Mr. Linky below.

There are no guidelines for your wrap-up post, though you can revisit some suggestions I made last year if you need a little inspiration. Once your post is up on your blog, come here and sign up on the Mr. Linky below. Don’t forget—include the URL to your wrap-up post, not just your general blog web address, to make it easy for people to find your post.

And don’t forget…there are still two Amazon.com gift certificates ($15 & $10) up for grabs. To be eligible, please post your wrap-up post (and put it on the Mr. Linky) by midnight EST on December 24th to get your name in the drawing. I’ll announce the winner a few days after Christmas.

Thanks again to all the participants. I’ve enjoyed reading with you!

  2. I’ll check back later for Mr. Linky. In the meantime, I so appreciate your faithfulness in hosting these challenges twice a year! They’re great for me to get some intentional reading done and clear off a little more shelf space each time.

  3. Okay, no Mr Linky, so I’ll leave my link here instead for now! Maybe you could add it to the Linky as and when it’s up and running? I’ll try to check back later anyway…

Thank you very much for hosting the challenge – I didn’t do all that well when I take my original goals into account, but then, life DOES tend to get in the way as the festive season approaches so I’m not too worried! Merry Christmas chuck, hope you get some great reading in over the winter! :D

  4. Here’s my link since there’s no Mr Linky: http://trishdoerrler.com/2012/12/fall-into-reading-2012-update/. Can you add it once the links are working? My mom just flew in from out of state and I may not be online the next couple of days much.

Thanks for a fun, as always, challenge!

  14. I think the hectic pace of the season does highlight how delightful escaping in a book for a bit can be. I always enjoy these seasonal challenges you host Katrina – although I do miss those questions you used to pose. Maybe again in the spring? My wrap-up post is complete and I managed 8 books though not the ones I started with. Thanks again!

  15. Added the link to my follow up post

  17. I need to get mine written. I did okay!

  18. Thanks for hosting this! It proved to me that I simply can’t list what to read, I definitely have to be in the right mood for a certain genre.
I only managed seven out of twenty-five… I got distracted by a lot of other books. Too many ebooks on my list!

  19. Once again I want to thank you for hosting this. It is an inspiration to me and my students. Looking forward to the Spring Reading Challenge

  20. Thanks for hosting this! It’s so fun to see the eclectic group of readers who benefit from your challenge.
