I’m not sure when June snuck up on us, but here we are, a week into June already! Which means that we are in the home stretch of Spring Reading Thing 2012. We have less than two weeks to cram in as many pages as we can and finish our lists…or admit that it’s just not going to happen.
How are things going on your end? Are you ready to sprint to the finish line? Are you going to make it?
I’ll confess: I’ve been horrible about nonfiction during this challenge. I’ve been picking up novel after novel — novels that are not on my SRT list! — rather than being disciplined about finishing up my last two nonfiction books. At this point, I predict that by the end of June 20, I’ll finish one, but not quite finish the other. We’ll see…
I’ll put up a post next week to remind you about your end-of-challenge post and provide a few questions to guide you (answering them is optional, of course). And then the final Mr. Linky will go live on June 21st.
In the meantime — keep reading! And if you have a second to comment, let me know if you think you’ll finish all your challenge books…or not.

Will you be hosting any more challenges in the near future? I would love to get in on the next one. I am following you now so that I can keep up. Love your place!
I’ve got one and 2/3′s books left. Even with the books that I added part way through, I think I’m going to make it.
Shhhh! Don’t let’s talk about the end of this just yet. I’m not quite ready.
I’m not sure that I am going to finish my list but I’m going to give it my all. I have 6 books left to read…I’m thinking maybe of having my own little read-a-thon to see if I can get them done!
I got thrown for a loop when one book I ordered was much longer than I expected (480 pages! I hadn’t thought to check the page count) plus it was a little harder to plow through than I had anticipated. So that put me behind, but a couple of road trips afforded a bit more time to read, so I’m not as far off as I feared I would be. I’m about to start my last fiction book, which I think I can finish in time, and there is one non-fiction I may not get to.

I finished 5 out of 6 books from my list (one of which I added in later) and I’m about 35% through my 6th book (according to my kindle) – there is a chance I’ll finish on time, but the book is rather slow going, so we’ll see. I’m going to try!

I have become sorely disappointed in my performance this time round. But now that school is out I can give it a bigger push I hope.
I’ve been diligently plowing through my list, but I’m not sure if I’m going to finish the last two on there — I’m working my way through “Mary, Queen of Scots and the Murder of Lord Darnley,” and it doesn’t go so fast when I have to keep flipping back pages to figure which Scottish nobleman of the 16th century we’re talking about this time…
I’m like you–way way way past the fiction, still have some challenging and thought-provoking nonfiction left to go. Not sure whether to speed-read them to get the challenge done, or just say “oopsie, my bad” and not finish.
I only have one book to go (Stardust), so I’m feeling pretty optimistic. However, I haven’t really looked at my list since I wrote it and I mostly put things I expected to read on it, so I’m not sure I’m using it right
