SRT Giveaway: Somewhere to Belong

Time for another Spring Reading Thing 2010 book giveaway, sponsored by Bethany House. But first, here’s the winner of last week’s book, Never Say Never:

Comment #26 — Lyndsay @ Bytes of Memory

Congrats!

Here’s how the giveaways during Spring Reading Thing 2010 work:

Every Thursday, I will post about a new book that’s up for grabs. If it sounds like a book you’d like and you want to be eligible to win it, just leave a comment on the post and I’ll put your name in the virtual hat. I’ll leave the post open for comments until the following Wednesday at noon. I’ll then randomly pick a commenter and announce that person as the winner when I put up the next giveaway.

Also, I apologize to any international readers, but these giveaways are only open to readers in the U.S. or Canada.

This week’s giveaway:

Somewhere to Belong
by Judith Miller

From the publisher:

Journey inside the picturesque villages of the Amana Colonies, 1877

Johanna Ilg has lived her entire life in Main Amana, one of the seven villages settled by devout Christians who believe in cooperative living, a simple lifestyle, and faithful service to God. Although she’s always longed to see the outside world, Johanna believes her future is rooted in Amana. But when she learns a troubling secret, the world she thought she knew is shattered. Is this truly where she belongs?

Berta Schumacher has lived a privileged life in Chicago, so when her parents decide they want a simpler life in Amana, Iowa, she resists. Under the strictures of the Amana villages, her rebellion reaches new heights. Will her heart ever be content among the plain people of Amana?

You can read an excerpt from Somewhere to Belong at the Bethany House website.
