Congrats!

Here’s how the giveaways during Fall Into Reading 2009 book giveaways work:

Every Thursday, I will post about a new book that’s up for grabs (occasionally, there may be more than one book!). If it sounds like a book you’d like and you want to be eligible to win it, just leave a comment on the post and I’ll put your name in the virtual hat. I’ll leave the post open for comments until the following Wednesday at noon. I’ll then randomly pick a commenter and announce that person as the winner when I put up the next giveaway.

Also, I apologize to any international readers, but these giveaways are only open to readers in the U.S. or Canada.

Disclosure/disclaimer: The books for the Fall Into Reading giveaways are graciously provided by the publisher. I have not had a chance to read them, so can not offer an endorsement or critique. All book information is provided by the publisher.

This week’s giveaway:

God Made Your Body
& How God Makes Babies
by Jim Burns

Today’s giveaway is a 2-book set from the Pure Foundations series, age-appropriate resources for teaching your kids about healthy sexulaity.

From the publisher:

GodMadeChildren’s curiosity often prompts them to ask questions you, as a parent, don’t feel ready or able to answer. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Dr. Jim Burns, family expert and award-winning author, offers a valuable resource for those uncomfortable–even dreaded–conversations.

With biblical, age-appropriate information and illustrations, God Made Your Body introduces children ages 3 to 5 to the basic idea that God created our bodies. Addressing topics such as how boys and girls are different, it also emphasizes how each child is unique and special to God. The second book, How God Makes Babies, introduces children ages 6 to 9 to the basics of human sexuality. Answering the question of where babies come from, it also emphasizes how children are a part of God’s wonderful plan for families.

HowGodThough not always easy, opening this discussion early helps you lay a solid, godly foundation in your children’s lives. By reading this book together, you are giving your children the tools they will need throughout their lives to make God-honoring decisions about their bodies, their self-image, and their relationships. Don’t wait until it’s too late. A life of purity can begin today.
