Fall Into Reading 2009: Time to start reading!

Fall Into Reading 2009Welcome to Fall Into Reading 2009! Don’t tell my husband, but I’ve blocked off all of today to sip coffee, read your posts, and get started on working through my own reading list. I hope you’re ready to read, too!

I’m looking forward to seeing what’s on everyone’s reading lists this fall, and finding some new and irresistible books to add to my TBR (to-be-read) pile.

Whatever you’re reading for this challenge, I hope you enjoy each and every book!

Here’s a brief recap of how to be a part of Fall Into Reading 2009:

  • Make a list of books you want to read (or finish reading) this fall. Your list can be as long or as short as you’d like. (Also, feel free to modify your list during the challenge if it’s not working for you.)
  • Write a blog post containing your list and submit it to this post using the Mr. Linky below.
  • Get reading! The challenge goes from today, September 22nd, through December 20th.
  • Check out other participants’ lists and add to your own to-read-someday pile!
  • Write a post about your challenge experience in December, telling us all about whether you reached your goals and how Fall Into Reading went for you. But remember: this is a low-pressure challenge that should be fun. As long as you do some reading this fall (and enjoy it!), that’s good enough for me.

There’s a Mr. Linky at the end of this post. Please use it to link to your blog post containing your Fall Into Reading list. Remember to link to your specific post, not just your general blog homepage. People will be stopping by for days (or weeks!) and when you link to your specific post, it will make it easier for everyone to find your reading list. Also, if you don’t mind, please link back here from your post so that your readers can come check out all the other participants.

So post your list, grab a mug of your favorite autumn beverage, and check out all the other bloggers who love to read as much as you do!

Watch for a Fall Into Reading 2009 Reviews post, which I’ll put up Thursday. It will provide a place where you can link up to any reviews you write about your Fall Into Reading books. (And the review thing? Completely optional.)

That should cover all the details. Link up below and let’s get reading!

Was your link deleted? Check the Posting Guidelines to make sure you followed the rules. If you think your link was deleted by mistake, feel free to contact me.

Note: My previous issues with Mr. Linky have been resolved, so I’m going to give him another shot! Sorry for the flip-flopping!

Comments

  1. My link for #5 was incorrect, please delete that one. Sorry!

    ~MizB

  5. PS…I’ve got my nice, hot French Vanilla to drink beside me, and my plans for the day include curling up with a book from my list and reading, reading, reading… that’s it! (did my housework yesterday so that today could be dedicated to reading — and it’s raining out, so it’s the perfect sort of day for curling up with a book, too!) ;)

  6. Thanks for hosting, Katrina! I had a great time with the Spring Reading Thing and can’t wait to get started on fall.

  8. I’m looking forward to this! I went very tame (hey, it’s fall and I have small children who’ve already been downed with a nasty cold and shared it with me), but it should still be fun. I even get to start having a whole hour or two to myself every Tuesday starting today! So, instead of cleaning or running an errand, what am I going to do today? Read. ;)

Thanks again for hosting such a fun challenge!

  9. Could someone tell me how to put lines through what you’ve written like you are crossing them off a list?? I want to overwrite them as I read, I guess.
THANKS!! I’m looking forward to this!! My first time of tripping over to this blog and discovering something to motivate!!
    Karen

  10. Thanks for hosting Katrina – I’m so glad it’s Fall!

  41. This looks like such a cool contest! This is perfect for me ’cause I love to read and have a bunch of books for history that I need to get through. Thank you so much for doing this! :)
.-= Catz´s last post ..Fall Into Reading Contest =-.

  42. I love this challenge! Fall is my favourite season, and I love nothing more than curling up with a hot drink on a cool fall day with a book, as the colourful leaves fall to the ground! Sigh!

  43. This should be fun. I am always hopeful I’ll read this much anyway, but now I have a goal!

  44. I never joined before-but since this is a no pressure fun challenge, I thought I would join in!!! As I see the linked lists, I may want to rethink mine!
    ~Nancy

  45. I’m so excited! This is my first reading challenge!

  50. Got my post up yesterday, but had to work at 9am this morning. Bummer. Anyhow, glad to have it ready to post here. Can’t wait to spend the evening checking out everyone’s lists!!

  51. Thanks for providing this fun challenge!

  52. I stopped at the library on the way home from work to pick up two holds, and I walked out with seven books. Gulp!

  53. I have updated my list with more books
    Thanks,
    Joyful

  54. First time doing this challenge….though it is really going to be a challenge getting my book list done without November available for reading. I’ll be doing the the Nanowrimo challenge that month.

    Good luck everyone!

  55. I am very excited to join the Fall Into Reading challenge — partly because Fall is my favorite time of year and I can’t think of a better way to spend it than reading through some good books, and partly because this is my first challenge. Thanks for hosting it!

  61. This is my first time in this reading challenge. I like this challenge’s concession of allowing one to modify one’s reading list. Being a moody reader, I sometimes deviate from the list of books I have prepared to read. Hope to come across really exciting books here from other reviews to add to my wishlist. :)

  62. Oops, I made a mistake posting my first link. It has the link to a book review. Kindly delete. My second link posting #155 is correct — links it straight to my post on this challenge.

  63. I’m looking forward to participating. Bring on the books!

  64. I’m excited! Thanks!

  65. Katrina,
I am so excited about reading these books, I even decided to try to be a book reviewer. I qualified. I am nervous/scared. I can’t believe I went as far as trying for it. :) I got an e-mail from someone, I didn’t look for it on my own. So maybe it’s a GodSend.
I haven’t picked my book yet. But, I definitely add it to my list of books to read.
    Blessings,
    Joyful

  66. This will be my first challenge and I’m a bit nervous! But I’m excited that I have some motivation and direction of where to start clearing off shelves too!

    Thanks for hosting this challenge!
    Kimberly

  67. am so glad i found this! thanks for hosting the challenge!!!!

  68. This is my first time participating. I actually just jumped into the world of blogging yesterday so please bear with my “newbie-ness”. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is reading.

  69. I had just posted yesterday a review on three books just finished and from another blog I follow, found your fall reading challenge. I love it!

    I am off and running…eh…reading. :)

  70. Thanks for hosting!! Looking forward to visiting others and seeing what’s on everyone’s reading list for this Season.

    Happy Fall!!

  71. My New Years resolution for 2009 was to read more Christian based books. Presently, I have read at least eight. This challenge just gives me a bigger incentive to knock a few more out before the end of the year and the coming of another new resolution!!

  72. I’d also like to know you draw the line through finished books as well as how you put pictures of the books on your page. All i could do was put up links to Amazon.com.

  73. Thanks for hosting such a fun challenge!

  74. I accidentally posted my blog without the specific link, so I am up their twice if you would delete my first one that would be great (sorry)

  75. So fun!

  76. This is my first book challenge. Very exciting. Now if I can just get my new site up, I’ll be happier.

    Thank you, Katrina!

  99. At last, an excuse to do what I love best! I think I need it.

    Thanks.
