So.
Well.
It would appear that I’m taking the summer off when it comes to blogging. Or, more accurately, it would appear that I’m taking the summer off when it comes to the Internet. Not only does my blog lie dormant and ignored…but my Google Reader has somewhere around 500 posts I haven’t yet read, my email Inbox is growing faster than the weeds in our gardens, and my husband (who is involved in, um, zero online social-networking-type things) knew that Twitter has been having problems before I did.
To put it simply, I’m out of the loop.
I can’t really apologize for it, though. It’s been a good summer. Some busyness, some laziness. A short vacation, several trips to the bookstore, wondering how my two children can possibly produce that many crumbs during a single meal.
I’m not off-line simply because I’m “too busy” — though admittedly, some days certainly feel like that. Instead, I think I’ve just needed a change of pace. A little dis-connection.
Like many bloggers, I’ve occasionally entertained the idea of quitting, packing it all in and going back to life as it was before I discovered the blog world. And during this break, I’ve thought that maybe this is IT. Maybe I’m done with the whole blogging thing.
But I’m probably not.
There’s too much I enjoy about it.
So more than likely, I’ll be back.
Maybe when school starts, or maybe before.
I have books and games to review for you, stories to share, thoughts to process.
So if you’re still there — if you haven’t obliterated Callapidder Days from your feed reader or your occasional tour of the Internet — thanks. I hope your summer has been enjoyable.
And I’ll see you soon!

Keep enjoying it..it goes by way too fast!=)
Still here. Still enjoy the books and games reviews –when you have time. Downtime in the summer is actually kind of nice.
You know that I’ll still be here! I had anticipated a coming blog post — glad I wasn’t wrong!!
And I’m glad you aren’t apologizing either. I’m proud of you for going with your gut and being able to disconnect as needed.
I’ve been somewhat more disconnected this summer as well, and it’s an attitude that I hope will continue.
Jennifer, Snapshot´s last blog ..Seriously??
I know that feeling all to well! While I’m still down with the whole blogging adventure, I am looking at getting rid of all the other networking stuff. It’s too much for my poor, tired brain!
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
I haven’t been blogging hardly at all. I go through spurts with Twitter and Facebook. I still check my Google Reader occasionally, but I think blogging in general is “down”, as it were. I’ve just found lately, that the “micro-blogging” works better for me – short and sweet
Glad you’re having a great summer and hope the new school year gets off to a good start. Have a great day
I’ve kinda been MIA this summer too. My husband had surgery at the end of June, so since then, him & both kids have been home. UGH! But we did some fun stuff too & lots of decent bonding.
I’ve been working on a list for the Fall Reading Challenge too!
We’ll be here when you get back!
Take the time you need for you and your family. Cherish those moments. They go by too quickly.
Enjoy your summer with your boys! I totally get it — like Andrea said, I am social networked out!
If you figure out where all those crumbs come from, please let me know! I can’t even begin to understand why I have to sweep 3 times a day and WHERE in the world all the piles come from every single time.
It’s sorta gross.

Glad you’re thinking of continuing. When I see a new entry, it makes my day, and helps me get news of what’s going on.
Only 500 posts in your google reader? Mine has topped 700 at last log in.
I totally get the uncertainty in blogging. Trying to evaluate my own online future as well. Sometimes I think about throwing out the keyboard but, like you, probably won’t. I like it; I just need to balance it.
And the crumbs? I think they multiply. Seriously.
Well darn! I’ve just discovered your site.. Hope you get the break you need and come back to writing soon!
My blogging has slowed down, but I do still enjoy it and can’t seem to walk away from it. I don’t do twitter but I do facebook once in a while-although blogging is more satisfactory to me. Enjoy your summer, enjoy your kiddos–it goes by so fast!
*smiles*

Don’t ever quit! We need you! Even if you only post once a week. I so enjoy your book reviews and your recommendations for kids. Have a great summer!
I subscribe to guilt-free blogging. Do it when it’s fun and worthy of your time, but never feel guilty for not doing it. Real life is way more important. I’m glad you’re having a great summer!!

Glad to hear you are having a great summer. We miss you , but will be here when you return!
OH MY WORD. I know exactly what you’re talking about. HUGE part of me really needs to take a break. Enjoy the rest of your summer, sweet girl!
Juggling life is hard enough without dealing with blogging guilt! If a ball must be dropped, then that’s the one to let bounce. . .the others are just too fragile to let go of! You’re doing the right thing!

I love your relatable nonchalance toward that notion to quit we all entertain.
Enjoy your summer but come back for “Fall into Reading”, please! This is my first year blogging and I’m looking forward to trying this one.
