CD Giveaway: Faith, Hope, & Lullabies

With my youngest son, L., now being three years old, I can no longer claim to have a “baby” in the house. While he still enjoys a cuddle in the rocking chair on a regular basis, our days of blankets and lullabies are fading.

However, that didn’t stop me from quickly accepting an offer to check out two new CDs –  Faith, Hope, & Lullabies and Faith, Hope, & Lullabies: Songs of Worship.  Call it a touch of nostalgia, if you will. Or maybe it’s just the fact that a mom of a loud busy 3-year-old might have just as much need for peaceful, relaxing music as a new baby does.

Peaceful Music for Quiet MomentsEither way, I looked forward to their arrival and loaded the songs from both CDs onto my iPod as soon as they arrived.

Each CD has ten beautiful, instrumental renditions of familiar songs. I soon found myself humming along to songs originally made popular by Chris Tomlin, Amy Grant, Casting Crowns, and Stephen Curtis Chapman. And though the CD titles include the word “lullabies,” because the music is soothing and lovely, it can be used to create a peaceful, pleasant atmosphere for babies, kids, and adults alike.

I’m one of those people who often listens to my iPod as I drift off to sleep at night and these CDs are perfect for helping me to relax.  But the real test would be my kids — what would a 10- and 3-year-old think? I put it to the test one evening when my husband was out of town.

Songs of WorshipC., my 10-year-old, was quick to say he liked them. They might not line up with his usual musical fare, but he thought they made a nice dinner accompaniment, or just background music to have playing throughout the house. And L., my 3-year-old? Admittedly, he started by requesting a “Silly Songs” CD that he’s been enjoying these days. But within a few minutes, he started to enjoy the Faith, Hope, & Lullabies CD, and maybe it was just my imagination — but his usual loudness orneriness spiritedness seemed a bit calmer as the CD went on.

Overall, I think the two Faith, Hope, & Lullabies CDs are winners. They’d be perfect gifts for a new mom, or even a mom — like me! — whose kids are a bit older. Whether you want to create a calm, peaceful car ride, or enjoy some music as you feed your baby, I would recommend either of these CDs.

Would you like to hear the music? I thought so.

Both CDs are available, of course, at Amazon.com, but I’m also happy to be giving away a copy of each CD!

If you’re interested in entering the drawing to win one of the Faith, Hope, & Lullabies CDs, just leave a comment on this post, letting me know which CD you’d prefer if you’re one of the winners. I’ll choose two winners on Thursday, June 18th, and announce them here.  U.S. and Canadian mailing addresses only, please.

They both look great. I love to play music like this during our nap times. I would pick the Made to Worship one if you twist my arm though! Thanks so much!
