Then and Now

When I can’t seem to get a blog post together in my brain, I’ve been known to browse the many pictures stored on my computer. It’s a lot easier to browse them there than in a scrapbook or photo album, mostly because while I am really good at taking lots of pictures, I am horrible about ordering prints and organizing them in albums. (And scrapbooking? Forget it. Not gonna happen.)

So last night, I was doing a little comparison:

C., four years ago:

And C. now, approaching 10 years old:

He’s almost completely lost that little kid look, and is heading full-speed toward teen-hood. And it’s happening a teensy bit too fast for my tastes.

As for the cat, she remains largely unchanged. Still as surly as ever.

Love it. He sure does look grown up, doesn’t he? I’m sure it has something to do with feeding them. :v)

I can see how he has changed. The little boy look is going. But just wait, in a few years when he has grown you;ll miss this little boy too! My boys are now 22 and 23, and I miss those boyhood years. Enjoy! Keep taking those pictures, doesn’t matter if you print them out, just back up your files so they don’t get lost!

It’s amazing, isn’t it? Because to us, four years ago was nothing. It was yesterday.

WOW! They do grow up too fast! I can’t believe the cat is still around! Just think in about 6 years C. will be driving! :)

I love comparison shots like that!

And that 2nd shot of the cat is a leeetle scary…

Four years! That’s just crazy how fast kids change.
Also crazy: that cat. Good grief!

I love your cat. And this is a great idea for finding posting inspiration.

I’m terrible about printing up pictures too.

Isn’t it the weirdest thing… it’s like you blink and boom, they are half grown overnight. They grow up so fast… Great pictures!

I’m like you – great about taking photos but oh so bad about getting them printed out and put in an album or scrapbook. I used to scrapbook, that was before I discovered blogging. None since. I am still hanging on to all of my supplies though (read: clutter) in hopes that one day I will get back on it and scrap some of our photos and memories. Sigh. We’ll see!

    Have a great day!

I do exactly the same thing, Katrina. I take and load endless photos, but I never print them and I have a feeling I’m going to regret that someday. Actually, my challenge seems to be having both the ink cartridges my photo printer needs at the same time. Seems like one is always empty. Sigh.

What a difference four years makes! He’s one handsome boy.

I love cats, but judging by the look on your cats face in this photo, I think I’d keep my distance. LOL

I’m the same with pictures…I take tons of them but don’t print them. Of course, since I don’t have any two legged kids I end up taking tons of pictures of my four legged kids. :) Just download some this morning and I told myself I would print them out when we got back from vacation…I might actually have people in those pictures!

Wow, you wouldn’t think four years would make such a difference, huh? He’s a handsome boy. :)

And I think you cat is too cute. :)

It goes way too fast. My eldest is now out on his own, earning money and buying furniture. My youngest is working as a lifeguard and about to start his junior year in high school. And, I’m floundering around thinking, “What the heck happened to my babies?? I’m going to have to get a life, now!” Oh, yeah, and the cat hasn’t changed a bit, except for the fact that now she’s an “only” cat, which makes her a lot more relaxed (the other kitty liked jumping on her and sinking claws into her belly).
