I’m taking advantage of Lisa’s open tag (Lisa, in turn, found this meme at Elle’s, who found it at Toddled Dredge). The basic idea is to make a list of things that creep you out. And since all three of those ladies listed five items, I’ll do the same.
I give you…
Five Things That Creep Me Out
1. The use of toes for pinching other people. Toes are not for pinching.
2. Things near my eyes. It’s true that I wear glasses because I am near-sighted. But they also come in handy as protective devices, preventing people and things from getting too close to my eyes. I’ve been known to yelp or pass out at the eye doctor’s during the glaucoma test, when the little green light is moving closer and closer and closer to my eye. I shudder just thinking about it.
3. Any movie or TV show that portrays a dangerous water situation and makes me feel like I’m right there with them. As soon as the water starts splashing up the screen, I stop breathing. I’m fairly certain I could drown while sitting, secure and dry, on my couch. Scary water scenes creep me out.
4. Clowns. In books, in movies, in circuses, in the form of porcelain figurines or stuffed toys. I just don’t like ‘em.
5. Things coming out of noses that should not come out of noses. Or stories about such experiences. I understand that snot is normal, and as a mom, I’ve had plenty of experience wiping it. Not pleasant, but normal. However, I’ve seen videos of babies who seem to have inhaled a piece of spaghetti. I’ve heard stories of someone eating a LifeSaver, accidentally sucking it up into their sinuses and having it exit through their nose. These things are not normal, and they make me very uncomfortable.
What creeps you out? If you do this meme, let me know so I can come read your answers.

I’m with you on #2 and #4.
Okay, I promise to never pinch you with my toes. Ask my sister, I can pinch a mean one! And underwater life has always creeped me out – I can handle the mammals but not the fish.
I completely agree with #s 3&5! Though, I use my toes for pinching, and other things. They are very useful!
Oh yes clowns are truly freaky.
I did this one last Thursday.
I use my toes to pick up things but I don’t think I ever thought about pinching with them.
Things near my eyes are creepy, too. Trying to keep my eyelids from fluttering when putting eye drops in is a chore.
I think that whining is creepy. Whining kids are bad, but whining adults just creep me out.
Oh, that toe pinching thing made my skin crawl. I don’t even like to be that close to other peoples’ feet. And the clowns? Ditto. Big time.
My brother feels the same way about water movies. I am okay with them mostly, but sometimes I still need to leave the room.
Those actors deserve to be paid by the truckload.
Things coming out of noses–that’s creepy indeed!
Thanks for playing along!
Clowns, yes! They creep my kids out too.

I’m right there with you on #3. And things out of noses – the 2 things you mentioned are absolutely disgusting!
My sister could pinch with her toes! Not only is it creepy it’s down right bizarre!
And I’m with you on number two. Stay away from my eyes!

Great Meme and fun to read. Here’s my list. Thanks, Bitsy

What IS the deal with the eye doctor issues this week? Have you read Kelly Love Well lately? (Look at her #5.)
And people were calling in some hilarious stories about the foreign objects in noses on KLOVE the other morning. Like the green Tic Tac which melted and took quite a while to complete its oozing exit. Or the stuck peanut which the doctor ejected CPR style (closed up the other nostril and blew in the mouth!). And I bet you just thought KLOVE was for music!! LOL
I may have to do this meme. . . .
I don’t think I’ll ever go back to the ophthalmologist.
At least, not without a helmet.
I had to live w/ a toe-pinching sister all my growing up years. It was very creepy! I can relate on that one!
Come see my “creep-me-out” post.
Hi Katrina,
I decided to do this meme on my blog – it was just too fun to pass up!
The eye thing – very weird – I guess you won’t be having lasik any time soon!
roaches. Literally make me cringe outwardly…
and people spitting on sidewalks.
Hi Katrina! I’ll post on this meme tomorrow hopefully, but in the meantime I tagged you on one of my own. Don’t know if you do tags or not, but I was tagged and I thought I’d share the love!
You can go here to read more!
Thanks!
I think the entire world is with you on the clown thing. As for #3, I’m similar in that I can’t even watch on TV someone who’s on a high precipice looking down. Y’know where the camera angle makes it look like you’re the one on the edge about to fall off? Yeah…I get weak in the knees and can’t watch. I can’t even look out of a 4th story (or above window). And yet I rode the Pitfall at Kennywood. It’s all about whether I’m strapped into something or not, I guess. Hubby thinks I’m wierd. I am!
