The first thing I thought when I looked at the case for Steven Curtis Chapman‘s new CD, This Moment, was: “How in the world does this guy manage to look as if he hasn’t aged a day since he belted out the lyrics to The Great Adventure…16 years ago?”
The second thing I thought was, “I need to go for a ride in the car — alone! — and check out this CD.”
And so I did.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Chapman. His Great Adventure album brings back memories of college fun. My maid of honor sang one of his songs at my wedding. And I always enjoy the pop/rock blend and personable feel he brings to his songs.
This Moment is as enjoyable as I’d hoped it would be. From the beginning, it had that familiar, distinct Steven Curtis Chapman sound. Some songs had me tapping the steering wheel along with the beat. Others had me crying. And I don’t cry easily.
If you haven’t heard the hit “Cinderella,” click HERE to see what you’re missing. But grab a tissue first. I don’t even have a daughter, and I was wiping away tears throughout the whole song. Good stuff.
And if you’re a mom, you’ll appreciate the song “One Heartbeat at a Time.”

I love Steven Curtis Chapman and have fond memories of belting out some of his songs. DH loves the song “Cinderella” – it reminded him of “Butterfly Kisses”, which I walked down the aisle to at our wedding. Oh, the fond memories!

I already have the cd, I just wanted to say that I totally agree~ this cd is fantastic.
We had the opportunity of seeing Steven in concert last fall, and even got to go backstage and meet and talk with him. It was a wonderful experience~ he’s so real!

Wow! I would love to have this cd; my husband would be thrilled too. We used to use The Great Adventure music to set up our sound equipment for a college music group I was in. We still play that for our children! (as well as all the SCC stuff). Your right, he hasn’t aged much.
