Book Giveaway: Experiencing the Resurrection

From the publisher:

Two thousand years ago, God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. But that isn’t a mere historical event. It isn’t simply a theological doctrine. It is rather a “huge moment” that reverberates powerfully and meaningfully throughout history. Even today. Even in your life.

When God raised Jesus, He also made it possible for Christ’s life to reign eternally in His followers. The resurrection is the foundation of your total freedom and complete victory in Christ. And so it is an event–an experience–that’s worthy of your daily celebration.

Experiencing the Resurrection is the second in a groundbreaking trilogy by the world-renowned spiritual leader Dr. Henry Blackaby and his son, Dr. Melvin Blackaby, that guides you into experiencing the gospel of Christ in its fullness. In this book they offer you a deeper understanding of the glorious, joyous dimensions of the resurrection, with the goal of revealing the living Lord at work in your daily life.

This is the first step to fully knowing and experiencing the peace, joy, power, purpose, and confidence that God promises you through the resurrection of His Son.

My thoughts:

When I was asked to be part of the blog tour for Experiencing the Resurrection, I gladly agreed. I thought the book would be perfect to read as Easter approached, and I’ve enjoyed some of Henry Blackaby’s previous work.

Having read the book, I have to say that this is a great book to read any time, not just during the Easter season. It begins with a review of what, exactly, the resurrection is, why it was necessary, and how it affected Jesus’ disciples and followers at the time. The book then goes on to explain to readers what the resurrection means to us today. Yes, it means that if we put our faith in Christ, we will one day be resurrected to eternal life with Him. But it also means that we have enormous riches available to us right now. The Blackabys write about the peace, joy, confidence, and hope that should be affecting our everyday lives. They tell about what it means to live under the authority of and with the power of Jesus in our lives. And they challenge readers to examine their lives to see if there is evidence of the resurrection working in them and if not, why not.

Naturally, you can pick up a copy of Experiencing the Resurrection at Amazon.com. Just click HERE. But I also have a copy available to give away.
