Leave a comment between now and next Wednesday night if you’re interested in winning a book. Winners will be drawn Thursday morning. In your comment, please put the NUMBERS (not titles) of all the books from this current giveaway that you’re interested in. For example, your comment might say something like: “Put me in for #2, 7, and 9.” Include as many books as you’d like, and feel free to enter for all of them. Make sure that your comment includes an easy way for me to get in touch with you (email or your blog, etc.).
With each book listing, I’ve included where the author can ship. Please be sure to only enter for books that will ship to where you live. Thanks! (FYI: This week, all the books ship anywhere.)
1. Things We Once Held Dear
By Ann Tatlock
Fiction
Ships: Anywhere
The foundations of Neil Sadler’s small-town life had been rocked by a suspicious death. Years later, as he struggles to recover from a more recent loss, memories surrounding that disturbing ordeal have taken hold of his mind and won’t let go.
Intent on repairing his shattered world, Neil reconnects with his friend Mary Beeken. Their once-close relationship hadn’t been strong enough to survive the tragedy that overtook Mary’s family, yet what drove them apart years ago now seems to be drawing them back together.
The mystery that shrouds the fateful events stretches back over two decades–and remains unsolved. To bring closure will mean facing old truths–hard truths–and discovering some new ones. For Neil, the future is as much in the balance as the past.
2. I’ll Watch the Moon
By Ann Tatlock
Fiction
Ships: Anywhere
This is my mother’s story. This is Josef’s story. This is my story. There is no way to unravel the threads. All strands become one. I will tell the story to the best of my ability. I will recreate the story from my own memory, from what my mother told me, and from the notes that she kept of what Josef told her. But you must accept that, while I can lay out the events, I can’t always give the reason why certain things happened. I can only know that they did, as painful as they were, and sometimes, blessedly, as marvelous as they were. But that’s the whole point, really. Always there remain those questions that no one can answer. But what I cannot yet understand in this our story, I leave to God, who understands all.’
Thus begins this gracefully woven novel, the story of Nova Tierney, who desperately longs for a father. It also is the story of her mother, Catherine, angry at a God in whom she no longer believes, and Josef Karski, an Auschwitz survivor whose trusting spirit refuses to be subdued, even by his heart-wrenching past.
Nova’s tender reminiscence, charming and authentic, breathes life, love and warmth into a St. Paul, Minnesota, boardinghouse where forgiveness is in short supply.
3. Violet Dawn
By Brandilyn Collins
Fiction
Ships: Anywhere
Something sinuous in the water brushed against Paige’s knee. She jerked her leg away.
What was that? She rose to a sitting position, groped around with her left hand.
Fine wisps wound themselves around her fingers.
Hair?
She yanked backward, but the tendrils clung. Something solid bumped her wrist.
Paige gasped. With one frantic motion she shook her arm free, grabbed the side of the hot tub, and heaved herself out.
Paige Williams slips into her hot tub in the blackness of night—and finds herself face to face with death.
Alone, terrified, fleeing a dark past, Paige must make an unthinkable choice.
In Violent Dawn, hurtling events and richly drawn characters collide in a breathless story of murder, revenge and the need to belong. One woman’s secrets unleash an entire town’s pursuit, and the truth proves as elusive as the killer in their midst.
Violet Dawn is for suspense lovers only. Brandilyn’s stories are intense, with the message of God’s power woven in. Visit her web site. Read the opening scene here. Read a few of the many reviews for Violet Dawn here.

Artist Sophie Grace has one goal: finding her beloved Michael in war-torn Spain. His work as a news photographer has taken him deep into the country wracked by civil war between ragtag Spanish patriots and Nazi-backed Franco forces.
Secrets abound in ruined Spain. Michael is loving but elusive, especially about beautiful Maria. The American who helped Sophie sneak into Spain turns up in odd places. Michaels’ friend Jose knows more than he tells. When reports of Michael’s disappearance reach her, Sophie is devastated. What are her feelings for Phillip, an American soldier who comes to her rescue? Sophie must sift truth from lies as she becomes more embroiled in the war that threatens her life and breaks her heart.
Acclaimed author Tricia Goyer creates a riveting cast of characters against the backdrop of pre-WWII Spain. Love, loss, pain, and beauty abound in this first book in her new series, Chronicles of the Spanish Civil War.
And finally today, Sandra Glahn is offering a copy of each of the fantastic books in her Coffee Cup Bible Study series. I can personally attest to the fact that they are great studies!
Each of the Coffee Cup Bible Studies contain Monday-through-Friday Bible study questions, along with devotional thoughts for lighter reading on the weekends. Designed for group or individual study, each book in the series includes the entire Bible book or chapters needed (NET Bible translation) in a spiral-bound book, so it fits in a purse or diaper bag–perfect for taking to a doctor’s office or to the beach.
9. Mocha on the Mount
By Sandra Glahn
Bible Study
Ships: Anywhere
Imagine yourself having coffee with Jesus. What would you ask Him? What might He ask you? This study considers Jesus’ words in the Sermon on the Mount and explores how Jesus set the bar so high that we see the key to entering the kingdom of heaven: realizing our deep need for grace and for someone else’s righteousness to be credited to our account.
10. Java with the Judges
By Sandra Glahn
Bible Study
Ships: Anywhere
They all did what was right in their own eyes.” Sound familiar? In the history of the nation of Israel, the period of the judges looked much like today. Okay, they didn’t have Internet porn and bio-terrorism threats. But they had the me-centered “I” mentality mastered—just like we do. This six-week study in the Book of Judges is chock full of exciting drama—from Deborah the Deliveress and tent-peg-wielding Jael to Samson’s Mother the Mute. We also have Ehud the Knifer, Samson the Seduced, and a host of others. Their stories inspire us to do what is right in God’s eyes, no matter what the cost. Because Hannah’s story happened during the time of the judges, her story from 1 Samuel 1 is also included.
11. Espresso with Esther
By Sandra Glahn
Bible Study
Ships: Anywhere
When we think of bad girls of the Bible, the usual culprits such as Jezebel and Rahab come to mind. But Esther isn’t usually on the short list. Yet Esther blended so well with the culture around her that no one could tell she was one of God’s people. Still, Esther goes on to became a great heroine, proving that anyone with the courage to follow God can be used to accomplish great things. Explore God’s grace through the Book of Esther in this five-week study.
12. Solomon Latte
