Another Thursday, another Bethany House giveaway. Only three left!

The winner of last week’s book, Making Peace with Your Mom, is Tricia. Congratulations! I’ve also listed the winners of the Books Galore #5 giveaway in a separate post. You can check it out HERE.

Now it’s time for Bethany House book giveaway #7. If the book below appeals to you and you’d like to be eligible to win it, just leave a comment on this post and I’ll put your name in the virtual hat. This post will remain open for comments until I list the next book next Thursday. At that time, I’ll randomly pick a commenter and announce that person as the winner. Please make sure that when you leave a comment, there is an easy way to get in touch with you – via email or your own blog. This book is open to anyone in the U.S. or Canada.

And now, on to the book…

In the Company of Secrets
By Judith Miller

Olivia Mott didn’t intend to lie. Somehow, it just happened. And wasn’t it all Lady Charlotte’s fault anyway? Now Olivia’s position as assistant chef at Pullman’s elegant Hotel Florence is dependent upon her keeping her secrets. And sometimes lies have a way of leading to other lies. Should Olivia admit her real past and accept the consequences or keep quiet in order to preserve her comfortable new circumstances?

Yet deception seems to be part of everyday life in the company town of Pullman. Samuel Howard, Olivia’s friend and the town manager, seems to think everything is fine, but Olivia observes something quite different. Could it be that Olivia is not the only one harboring secrets?

Packed with fascinating details of times past, In the Company of Secrets transports readers to the vivid world of 19th century Chicago.

Still not in need of any books but just wanted to say THANKS for doing the book challenge. I am really pleased with myself for finishing more non-fiction books and it really helps to have committed myself to a list. Now I’m working on Pride & Prejudice . . . my biggest hurdle.

I hope you’re getting some time in for yourself to read. Take care, my friend.

I love historicals! There’s something about reading a story set in another time that seems mystical and enchanting. But when it’s a mystery, well then, that’s just the cherry on top, since I’m a huge fan of the mystery genre as well. This book promises to be an ideal mix of the two, so count me in for the contest.

Thanks and have a great weekend!
