Katrina, we moved out of our house in Beaumont, Texas when I was 13 which is a very long time ago. But the phone # was TW2-8816, and if that doesn't make me sound completely ancient I dont know what will. And yes, actually, the phone was big and black with a cord, and sat in that little alcove thing in the hall. Yep, it sure did. I also remember Alan Eloe's birthday is April 24, but that's likely because of love cast off. Broke my heart in 9th grade by dumping me, and I've never completely recovered. Every April 24 I wonder where he is and what he ended up doing. But I don't remember what year any of my kids graduated from high school, sometimes I have a hard time remembering who's how old, and that includes me...

Great list Katrina. I love reading randomness. I am right there with you on number 8...I can remember phone numbers from childhood, but cannot describe most of the books I've read recently. People tend to think your crazy when you recommend a well-loved book, but cannot describe it to them...LOL

have a great week!

Thirteen years ago I started as receptionist at my company. Today I still remember most of the extensions of people there . . . even though I haven't done that job in 12 years! Numbers just stick in my head like that too! I'm like you on plots though - forgetting whodunit!

ENjoyed reading all the things about you - thanks for sharing!

I am there with you on #6. I love fruits and most veggies but no potatoes. I eat them but can live without them. My son is like me and will choose a good pear over a candy bar. The bird thing and cactus thing cracked me up.

Fun facts! I am with you in the very small group of women who has never highlighted her hair. My reasons: I'm cheap and lazy (don't want to have to keep it up).

Please tell me that you do like the French Fry form of the potato, or I'm not sure if we can be friends.

Don't feel too weird about the cactus. When we took a resort scuba class, I was pretty afraid of the giant sponges underwater. They were huge! I don't know what I thought they might do, but I was a little freaked out.

Your "cactus fear" brought back bad memories. When my daughter was younger, age 5-ish, she actually had to go to a child psychologist for phobias. One of her biggest fears...exotic plants, like palm trees and banana plants. I kid you not! We couldn't take her anywhere like a mall or anything that might have plants like that...she would totally freak out! Once a security guard in a mall came up to make sure we weren't hurting her or trying to kidnap her or anything. Imagine trying to explain, that no, she's just deathly afraid of the palm tree. Anyway, maybe she'll be glad to know that there's someone out there that sort of understands. LOL

These are great!
Not to freak you out or anything, but there actually are cactus like that. In AZ the locals call them Jumpin' Jack - but I can't remember the proper name for them. All you have to do is just barely brush by them and they spit their pokey things (what IS the term for that?) in all directions. The pokey things have barbs on the ends of them (big ones) and they are terribly painful to remove from skin.

Thanks for sharing!
D
