Memo to 3-month-olds

Note: This is L.. I’ve taken over my mom’s blog to send out an important message for all the other 3-month-olds out there.

How to Drive your Mom Absolutely, Postively Crazy
(and leverage it to your advantage)

Congratulations - you’ve gotten through your first 3 months! Like me, you’ve probably recently discovered that your hands are attached to the ends of your arms and that you can move them where you want them to go, albeit with somewhat limited accuracy. So, here’s what you need to do to drive your mom nuts. Approximately 2 hours after every feeding, take one of those fists, and (when your mom’s not looking) shove it as far into your mouth as you possibly can. It may take a bit of work to get it there, so if you bonk yourself on the cheek or nose first, just keep trying until you get it to your mouth. Continue to shove the fist in, and push it in a bit further with your other hand.

The result: you’ll puke. It’ll taste yucky; you’ll probably make one of those, “Ewww, this is gross” faces. But it will get your mom moving. She’ll have to change your clothes because this kind of spit-up smells far worse than the right-after-a-feeding spit-up that she usually ignores. And, if you plan it right, you’ll accomplish this little feat in your crib, and she’ll also have to change your sheets. And possibly bathe you. Or at least give your face and head a bit of a scrub.

If you are eating 5-6 times a day, that’s 5-6 clothing/bedding changes every. single. day. Enough to keep your mom plenty busy.

And to slowly drive her insane.

She’ll be so tired of doing laundry that she’ll promise you anything - anything - if you would just stop doing it. Bingo! Now you’ve got her where you want her. Proceed to negotiate to get what you want.

UPDATED to add: The plan in action.

Oh my goodness – he’s changed I think since we were talking last Sunday! Or maybe I just couldn’t see his whole face. I see a baby Chad! Too cute. With a face that cute, you’re sunk. Yep, it’s all over for you, K! (So when do I get to babysit??)

Yes, it IS a good thing he’s cute. Or I’d be tempted to ship him out. :) But he looks at me with those big blue eyes and… well… I just keep doing laundry and giving him big loud kisses.

This is just too cute. I dont know that I want my daughter who has a 3 week old to read it. She’s holding her breath for when he’s 3 months old and “easier”. So let’s just not tell her, okay? Precious photos.

What a precious baby. I remember those days well – although they were many years ago. Believe it or not, there are times I wish I could go back – too much laundry and all!

How funny. I just came across yor blog and so far am really enjoying it. Especially reading about the book challenge. I love reading. I usually blog a lot, but due to a recent move and then an accident, I have not been keeping up but hope to get back in the swing of it.

Well, come on ya’ll. He does look a little ashamed of himself in that first photo!

What a sweet little cuddly baby. I just want to snatch him up and squeeze him.

oh-gosh, I am so sorry for all the sheet washing!! Some things can slowly drive you insane! Your L. is just adorable, cuteness makes up for it all, doesn’t it?
