Welcome to all the Fall Into Reading Challenge Participants! I can’t wait to see everyone’s lists!
As a quick refresher, the purpose of this challenge is for us to establish some goals for our reading this Fall and then work toward them. Whether you have a pile of books that you’ve been intending to read but just haven’t yet, or you need a gentle prod to finish some books that you started but then abandoned, or you would just like a little accountability as you work through your reading stack, this is the place for you. Read for entertainment, read to learn, read to improve your life, read to be inspired. Just read!
And don’t forget – there’s a prize at stake. One participant, chosen at random, will receive a $10 gift certificate from Amazon.com – to support your love of reading, of course! To be eligible for this prize, you’ll have to post a list now of the books you’d like to read this Fall (the cut-off for posting your list and adding your link here is this Sunday, September 24th, at midnight) and then post your results at the end of the challenge (the challenge ends December 21st). That’s it!
[Note: Although there are cut-offs in order to be in the drawing for the prize, there is no cutoff for joining in the challenge. So spread the word!]
I’ve put a Mr. Linky below. Please enter the link to your specific reading challenge post. People will want to stop by to see what you’re reading, and posting a link directly to your list will make it much easier for them to do so. (If you’re not sure how to do this, just email me; I’d be glad to help!)
Also, in your reading challenge post, please include a link back to this post so that others can check out all the participants. Want to include the graphic in your post or sidebar? Feel free to grab it and use it!
Fall officially starts this Saturday…Enjoy those books!
And now, without further ado….

Ooh, this is so exciting! I hope this gets me motivated. I’m in a reading slump right now. Thanks for doing this! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s lists.
Yea–I’m second. Can’t wait to read the other lists, and to take my “assignment” very seriously.
What a fun idea. I love seeing what others are reading. Gotta go – Aunt Dimity awaits!
My list is up. I chose a few books to re-read, just so I know there will be some sure-fire book love going on.:) Hoep that’s OK.
Thanks for hosting this challenge – can’t wait to see eveyone’s list. (Although it might alter mine!)
Okay mine is up, the icon is on my sidebar (not centered too slick but its there) and I dont know how to link to this spot, but I’ll figure it out and fix it. I have your MIL and Dianne’s mom coming over today – to set up a quilting blog, so unlikely it’ll happen today! Great idea to keep us all reading and accountable.
Mine list is up, Katrina. I can’t wait to sit down this evening and look at all the other lists, with pen and paper ready, to start a new book wish list. This was a great idea!
My list is up…now I have to go see what everyone else is reading and mady add more to the list =))
Thanks for initiating this! It’s going to be fun.
Woot! So excited.
Katrina,
Thanks! My list is up. Like Barb, I’m going to make a wish list based on what others are reading.
Great idea!!
I can hardly wait to see everyone else’s list! Mine will probably grow huge as I add some of those!
I am putting my list up in the next couple days, what a cool idea!!
Hi there!
I found out about your challenge through Blessed Beyond Measure through a mention of one of Lisa Whelchel’s books. How’s that for roundabout?!
Anyhoo, cute site and great contest! My list is now posted.
Everybody’s lists look great:
“I need more time, Cap’n, I’ve got to have more time!”
What fun!! I posted my list – thanks for hosting this!
Great idea! I’m in…
Great idea, I’m totally in the game. I love to read. I’ve got two great books I’m reading now. I’ll share on my blog.
A day late, but I’ve added my list of books!
) Looking forward to this challenge!

Katrina,
This challenge really drew me in – and I have to admit that a little gift card prize will always challenge me to join in.
Yikes!! I am way behind, as usual. I will try to get my list together tonight. How did the deadline get here so fast? I’m working on it – I promise.
Oh what a glorious idea! I love anything that makes people turn off the tv and read! (even if it is only for a little while…)
I’ve been looking forward to this ever since I first saw mention of it on your blog! Like others have said, I’ll probably add to mine (or start a list of what to read when this is over!) after looking at everyone else’s.
Thanks for the idea and for hosting this!
I can’t wait to see everyone’s lists too! I like the idea of one on your list Katrina, Simple Hospitality….uh oh, I might have to order some new books now!
Great idea, thanks for doing it.
Thanks for doing this, Katrina! My list is up, but I expect to be adding to it along the way. Looking forward to getting some recs from the others participating.
Love it…can’t wait to read the other lists!!!!! Laura
Thank you for a the fall inspiration! I am now off to buy “The Novelist”
I need this challenge to get moving on my to-read list!! (And sorry about the “chore chart” words stuck in my name; I can’t figure out how to get them off!)
I hope it’s OK if a kid joins!
What a great idea!!!! I can’t wait to go and read all the other lists. Thanks Katrina for doing this.
Mine is up, finally! Mine is more library books than books I own, so not quite sticking to the rules completely. But still reading!
Can’t wait to see what everyone else is reading and how they are doing!
Great idea, Katrina, thanks for doing this!!!
How exciting!! I am really looking forward to this challenge.
This is an EXCELLENT idea!
I’ve seen these challenges around, but never participated. But this sounds like a great one. I’m taking all the books off my desk except for the ones on my list. I’m trying to “balance” things out, and do more than just read for the pleasure of it. This challenge is a great motivation!
Phew! I finally got my post done.
If things move along nicely in the challenge, can we add books, or are we “stuck with” what we’ve listed? Either way is fine with me. Just curious!
Happy Fall!
Happier reading!!
I’m in! I am pretty motivated to get started on my list! I am also pretty sure after reading the other book lists, I will need a winter reading list. Oh well.
Happy reading to all!
Katrina, I have to say thank you for popping up at the just the right time. I have to read. It is my escape from reality.heeh. I am the only girl in my house. Then I have to read up on how to fix the stuff I already messed up..
Love and Respect is going to kick me in the pants but I think it is really good so far..
I LOVE this idea!!! I just spent the last hour putting together my list. What great fun!!
I am so excited to be a part of this challenge. I am so looking forward to reading my books on my lists and getting ideas from other book lists too. This will be so fun!
Just what I needed to get the rest of my book list finished! Thanks!
I happened upon your site at the perfect time! Thanks for the challenge. A couple of my books I just have to finish. The others I would really like to read. I’m looking forward to this!
Michelle
Okay, I’ve finally gotten a list of books together and posted so that I can participate in your challenge.
Thanks!
This is fabulous! Thanks for this great idea. I can’t wait to go through my list of books that need to be read and pick out the ones I want to add to my list. I am such an externally motivated person that I need deadlines and accountability. This is just the ticket!
Well, this is an interesting idea.
I read avidly.
I’m also a writer.
Since the two seem to go together, I thought I’d give it a try.
cjh
I can’t wait to do this!!
I have so many books I’ve been meaning to read.
Wonderful Challenge! Just posted my list today! Although, I may have to scrounge around for many of the books because this challenge goes way beyond our budget and most of them I cannot find in the library!!
Ack!
Thanks for doing this – I actually need some motivation to read more lately!
this is such a wonderful idea! I’m so glad I came over from Owlhaven!
I’ve put up my post and can’t wait to start checking off the books as finished!
This is a great idea! I found out about this from Rachel and I can’t wait either…thanks!
Katrina, I’m in! This is a great idea
Chrissy
Great idea, Katrina! Count me in!
Christy
Thank you for this, I could use the push to read again.
Oops – got me on their twice. I would delete but there is no delete button. Sorry!
Ok, so I totally admit I posted my list because I wanted the amazon gift certificate. I never have a “list” of books I want to read, I just go crazy at the library every week. I read a ton! So I posted a few books and then I got some comments. So of course I went to their blogs and read what they wanted to read and I added to my list. Then more people commented and I added some more. This is just amazing! I now have lots and lots of books I’ve never heard of before that I can WAIT to read!!! (well, they are on the waiting list at the library still) So a HUGE thank you to you! It’s hard to pull a good book off the library shelf at random.
Plus, I’d like to add that you have the nicest blog readers. I’m new to blogging and don’t get many comments, but this book list is popular! I’m loving getting to know the people who have posted at my blog.
Very cool! : )
Oops I made a boo-boo. My fingers ran away from my brain and i forgot to link directly to my challenge entry. I’m sorry.

Katrina,
Just added my post to the list. Looking forward to the challenge.
Challenge Book List
I linked to the wrong thing at first too…if you revisit/refresh the page, it should give you an option to delete your link…this is how I got linked correctly.
I am starting on my first book.
Just added my list! Looking foward to a lot of reading.
My list is up, unfortunately without cool pictures of the book covers – Typepad was NOT cooperative today!
Hey, are we supposed to sum up how we did at the very end of the challenge, or do we give little progress reports along the way?
Happy reading and Thank You, Katrina!

HUGS!
What a terrific challenge! Good encouragement to read.
I just posted my list.
Excellent challenge. I hope I can do it. I’m starting small. . . Thanks for providing an impetus!
Is it too late to join? I was pleasantly surprised to see I’m not the only one with a ton of unfinished books on the nightstand … in the car … on my kitchen table …
spgarcia – No, it’s not too late to join the challenge. Please join us!
Hey, I’m here via Barb and Beck. This sounds like a great idea! If you don’t mind, I’d like to join y’all!
I just love a reading challenge! Great idea!! Can’t wait to check out everyone’s list. It may cause my list to get a little bit bigger!!
I just started my first book for this challenge. Hooray! I’m so excited!
Thanks again for organizing this, Katrina!
Finally put up my list and suggested that my blog readers join as well! We can make it to 100!
Thanks for the reminder, Katrina. I love your book, The Most Important Place on Earth. That is our standard wedding shower gift. Great list!
I found this site through my good friend Panda Mom. My husband and I just started The Five Love Languages of Children.
Great idea! I have been telling myself for the last couple of weeks that I need to shorten my list of books that I have started or want to start.
I have list – I will post mine shortly
Thanks for starting this challenge! I have posted my list and can’t wait to see what other people are reading.
Posted my list!
Great Expectations by Dickens
The Poet of Loch Ness by Brian Jay Colligan
A Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George
all of those are for three different reading groups. yikes! i may have taken on more that i can absorb properly.
also a writing book called Spunk and Bite by Polinick (author’s name spelled wrong there, sorry!)
and I’ve already finished for fall – Gardenias for Breakfast by Robin Jones Gunn
that’s all for now
Great idea. I posted my list tonight. So
many books to read. Thanks for doing this. It is interesting to see what everyone is else reading.
Okay, I’ve been avoiding this for weeks, but since I have a whole shelf full of “to be read” I might have to jump on this bandwagon!
I’m using this as motivation to get some serious reading finished! Thanks, Katrina!
What a great idea! I’m late into the game, but I love reading, and it will be really fun to see what other books people recommend or if they comment on the books I might decide to read.
Thanks so much for setting up this challenge.

I am so excited! I have not read a thing since Labor Day. Hope this inspires me!
I just wanted to sa I finally got my reading list up!
I love a challenge! So glad I discovered your blog!
I am SO excited too! I love that all these people love reading too! YEA for books!
I know I’m a very late entrant, but I just wanted to join in! I made up my list last night, but since then I have found so many other books I’ve wanted to add. I’ll just have to keep them in mind for my New Years Resolutions!
This is so last minute, but I just discovered your blog and I wanted to join in on the fun. I’m not exactly sure if I did Mr. Linky right, though.
very late ~ but better late than never. thx for the motivation. ;D
I found out about this from Biblical Womanhood.
I’ve completed the challenge, is there going to be a new entry to post our results and completion dates on? Or is here enough!
Yippee, posted about it at my blog today, this really helped me read books from my own bookshelves, and also helped me stay out of the bookstores and from buying even more books! Thanks Katrina
I know I won’t get my list finished…some books are still on hold from the library!!! But I love the graphic and getting inspiration for more good reading from others. Thanks for the great idea!
I hope this is how I join the group. Having low vision makes it very hard, how about a button, join here onit…lol
I am listing my AOL website, but it never works, so it will be on the list page
Thanks for hostessing this, Katrina! Count me in
Oops, forgot to leave the proper link in my last comment. I can’t sign mr. linky either…you’ve had so many join (which is fabulous!) that mr.linky is bleeding over into (and hidden by) your sidebar.
Sorry, I just got back home after a 10-day business trip. It’s going to take me a bit of time to get my list together, but when I do I’ll come back here and link up!
you have great design!) greatings
